"There's a cultural issue. There's a moral issue," Cataldo said. "And that's always been the case when it comes to antisemitism. What we saw in the hearing shows us how far we have to go."

“I think it would be irresponsible of our state education system and our local districts not to give serious consideration to creating the framework and the safeguards that the bill proposes.”

“What we’re trying to do here is avoid a tragedy of somebody’s child or grandchild getting shot in their backyard, inadvertently,” Cataldo said in testimony before the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources in November of 2023.

“For instance, when Cataldo showed Page the dollar bills folded into the Star of David and asked whether he agreed it was antisemitic imagery, Page responded, ‘I’m not going to evaluate that.’”
