Carlisle Resident Greg Fairbank Honored at Military Appreciation Day

Carlisle Resident and Senior Army Reserve Leader to Represent the 14th Middlesex District as Honoree

BOSTON — State Representative Simon Cataldo (D-Concord) selected Greg Fairbank of Carlisle as the representative of the 14th Middlesex District to be honored at the second annual Military Appreciation Day, hosted by the Executive Office of Veterans Services (EOVS).

Military Appreciation Day celebrates, honors, and recognizes the sacrifices and contributions of Massachusetts's military community, including service members, veterans, military spouses, and Gold Star families.

"Greg Fairbank embodies exactly what this day is meant to celebrate," said Representative Cataldo. "His decades of leadership in the Army Reserve and his diverse and profound contributions in our community make him an extraordinary representative of the 14th Middlesex District. Our district is fortunate to call him one of our own, and I was honored to nominate him."

Mr. Fairbank is a senior leader in the United States Army Reserve, currently serving as Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G-3) at a two-star command, where he oversees the annual training of more than 44,000 Soldiers across 37 states. He previously served as a Brigade Commander responsible for Military Intelligence training across the Army Reserve, preparing Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve Soldiers in critical intelligence specialties and senior enlisted leadership development.

His military career spans roles including Battalion Commander, Brigade Operations Officer, Strategic Detachment Commander, Exercise Branch Chief, and Joint Operating Base Officer in Charge. He is a distinguished graduate of both the U.S. Army War College and the Command and General Staff College.

“I am deeply grateful for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its unwavering commitment to supporting our service members and veterans,” said Mr. Fairbank. “I especially want to thank Representative Cataldo, who has been a steadfast advocate for those who serve. It is truly an honor to receive this recognition. I am proud to call Massachusetts home. It is a place where my family and I feel profoundly supported.”

Beyond his military service, Mr. Fairbank has dedicated himself to his community and to veteran and humanitarian causes. He serves on the board of No One Left Behind, an organization that supports Afghan allies who served alongside U.S. forces. In Carlisle, he has been active in local faith-based fundraising, youth sports coaching, and town veterans' initiatives.

Military Appreciation Day is presented by the Executive Office of Veterans Services and brings together honorees from legislative districts across the Commonwealth for a ceremony in the House Chamber.
